Restorative and Peacemaking Practices Across the
Child/Youth Life Span: This IS Beyond Believing! There are a series of re-occurring issues and themes that arise for youth when talking about their view of experiences with “justice”. More often than not their experience has been either directly or indirectly based on encounters with the criminal justice or school system. However another model of justice exists, the restorative model. Rich and inclusive conversations occur with youth when all of their intelligences are utilized. Using art, video, music, drama and role plays youth become active participants in the process of learning. This workshop highlights these various models of restorative engagement. |
VoiceVoice is central to restorative processes. Many young people are excluded and not heard. Providing engaging ways of expression bring them into the circle.

LabelsLabels obscure the person. They stigmatize and add to the shame often found in typical justice and discipline encounters. "Taking the labels off" is an activity to begin to repair these harms.
