This session is an engaged and engaging discussion about building a restorative hub from the vantage of a post-secondary institution. Utilizing an ecologically empowered approach to mobilize assets and build capacity is an important first step in building community and hubs. However threats and challenges exist that require practitioners to expand their conceptual and practical landscape. For work with youth, restorative practices are enhanced when the lenses used include a race and class analysis, build on current research on resiliency and neuroscience and include the “whole village” as part of the solution in order to create new narratives both big and small.
