I enjoyed having the chance to witness an amazing performance. After watching the play I had an idea of what restorative justice was and how it works. As I go on with my education I might look into joining a program in relations to restorative justice.

This is going to be short and sweet, but the way I view the similarity between Restorative Work demonstrated in the play "Tough Case" and the best practices of Child and Youth Work is the fact that both the play and CYW's focus on how we do not define a person based on their actions. We believe that every child/youth has an opportunity to redeem themselves because we are human and we make mistakes. I felt that the play really focused on how it effected everyone that was involved and addressed everyone in the healing process for closure. In Child and Youth Work, we feel that is important for children/youth to be a part of decions that will be made in their life. It is about accountability.

I never was aware of the Restorative Justice Process until the "Tough Case" play after watching that play it really has opened my eyes to how effective individuals have in the world.Child and youth work gives the opportunity for youth to be able involve youth within decisions which is similar to the Restorative Justice Process.

i never knew about the restorative justice process until i had watched the play called "tough case" downtown Toronto. i admire the restorative justice process because it gives youth a second chance at things and most importantly it allows youth to see things from a different perspective. this is a great program that deserve more credit and limelight!

The Restorative Justice approach was very evident in the play ''Tough Case''. An example is the offender exercising their ability to see the affects of harm that was done by their actions and were still willing to invest in repairing the relationship and being accountable for the crime they committed. Another example is that the focus in the play was not on the crime committed against the state and the law that was broken, it was focused on the victim and the repair of the harm that was done as well as the reconciliation building relationships.

I found that the play "Tough Case" displayed the Restorative Justice approach very clearly. I was unsure as to how the process would be like, it gave realistic examples, specifically in the familial dynamics. I was able to relate it to the teachings and my learning in class on restorative, i was able to view it from a different perspective, which was very enlightening.

I found the play "Tough Case" to be enlightening in it's depiction on Restorative Justice. I also found it to very relatable to my learning in class. The play helped me to view this practice in a whole new perspective and as a result of this I am now able to better apply it to my understanding of "The Circle as a Space of Empowerment.

The play was great - some aspects of the Restorative work demonstrated in the play are similar to those practices seen in Child and Youth Work. Such as, not giving up on youth, patience, and giving youth an opportunity to change their lives around and become active member's of society.

After watching the play 'Tough Case', the restorative justice that was demonstrated was similar to the practice of child and youth work. One way is they do not give up on the young person, they try to work with them to promote positive change. Also, their behaviors do not represent or define who they are as a person. It goes beyond their behaviours that makes a person.

"Tough Case" demonstrated a lot of core elements that are involved in the restorative circle process. From outlinging the pre- meeting process to going through the motions of preparing for the actual circle was incredible and life like. As an audience we were given the opportunity to have an inside look at the importance of taking accountability for one's actions and how the healing process takes its course through restorative justice. Allowing participants to voice their experiences and feelings is much more fulfilling and powerful than the typical adversarial approach we see in the criminal justice system.
